AS you can see by the graph we are closing in on the halfway mark, I would like to take this opportunity to remind members that the cut-off date to have your name inscribed is the end of April a mere two months away. After that there will be no more name added as the plaque has to be ordered, so too those who have not yet donated please consider doing so and join the list of many of your shipmates who have donated.

To those members who have not yet contributed there are still four weeks till the end of April to of have your name perpetuated in bronze by donating to the memorial. You are also making it possible to right a significant imbalanced to the Brisbane Memorials, in the 114 years that our Navy has existed nowhere that I can find has there ever been a statue memorial raised in Brisbane or Queensland; there has been a lot of Ships and Association Memorials but never one uniquely Navy. So to be part of helping erect the first should be incentive enough without having your name cast in bronze for future generation to see. When one stop to think of what this Association has in its short history done for many of us, by providing us with our war pensions, Gold Card, medals recognition and indeed has made life a lot easier for a lot of us in our retirement it is a small ask. While it is a Naval Memorial it will always be known that it was first conceived and through the donations of its members a F.E.S.R project something that would indeed be the pinnacle of our Associations History
