VALE: CHAPLIN EUGENE VINCENT
Joined the RAN in July 1956 and Discharged on 9/9/1960 having served as a stoker for 4 years.
Eugene was born and raised South Australia (Rose Park).
Service Period : 4 yrs 2 months
Crossed the Bar Friday 4/5/2018 aged 79 yrs. (Just 2 months short of his 80th Birthday after losing his battle to Cancer)

Eugene CHAPLIN, member of SA/NT for many years succumbed to his battle with the dreaded 'C', actually lung cancer from working in the engine rooms of Sydney and Melbourne. He died on Friday 4th May and as yet confirmation of his funeral hasn't been received, however we have been advised by his son that it in all probability that it will be on Friday 18th May at the Lutheran Church in Salisbury, S.A. at 11.00 am. Eugene was a member of our Executive Committee until this year when he stepped down due to his failing health.
